    Poor adhesive/glue performance

Posted by Sabine on 19th Oct 2019

Unfortunately I found the glue on this sports tape to not be up to scratch. The tape does not stick properly if put directly on the skin, and I had to use a better quality sports tape underneath it in order for it to 'work'.
Once the other tape was underneath it, the tape could function and help support. But it is not good enough for supporting and 'staying in place' on it's own unfortunately. As a 'supplement' to a better product it will work... But that's hardly what you look for when buying a sports tape...

    No more blisters.

I use this on various parts of my fingers when doing a full day of log splitting. No more blisters in weird places thanks to this tough tape. Stays put, too.

    Good price and quality

End up buying online because I was not able to find this type of tape on the shops. Price was quite cheap comparing with other websites so I was a bit concerned.
I was happy when I received because of the quality. I use it to tape my ankle and fingers when playing volleyball and it works perfectly.
I found shipping price expensive for the size of the product I was ordering but still good price in total when comparing with others. Also it took just 2-3 days to get home
I will be definitley buying again.

I don’t know if you have changed the tape type, but it is not as sticky anymore so I am not able to use it as much as it isn’t as effective. Could you please let me know if you do a different brand of tape that is more sticky, as this tape comes off too easily
    Thanks Emma

    it does the job.

Posted by Anonymous on 18th Jan 2017

the tape doesn't stretch as much as i imagined, but it does a job reasonably well.
i use it to strap my thumb for rugby, as well as occasionally fingers and ankle and so on. the tape is too rigid to move with your movements and is quite uncomfortable due to its rigidness. do not buy this if you are intending to use it for similar purposes.

*Physical Sports response* Sounds like what you really wanted was elastic adhesive bandage. Zinc oxide tape does not stretch, full stop. That's not what it is for. It's intended for firm/rigid support and splinting. That said, it is very commonly used as a finger, thumb and wrist tape. If that's uncomfortable, it might be a sign the tape is applied too tightly. Re the ankle: you would usually only put zinc oxide tape on your ankle to immobilize a bad sprain.
