Hot Cold Sprays and Lotions

Hot and cold sprays and lotions typically work by creating a sensation of heat or cold when applied to the skin. For instance, some heat rubs contain a chili extract which produces the familiar 'tingle.'  Many people find that these sensations offer them relief from pain and stiffness.  In addition, heat rubs are often used to add an invigorating edge to a pre-exercise massage.
