Physical Elastic Adhesive Bandage is a high-quality, clinical-style EAB suitable for medical use or as a general sports strapping tape.

  • Robust, heavyweight fabric
  • Good level of stretch for comfort and mobility
  • High-performance, non-latex adhesive gives great stick and reduces skin irritation
  • Feather-edged with a centre line for consistent unwind and an even overlap
  • Ideal for firm but functional taping of soft-tissue injuries

Physical EAB is supplied in 2.5cm, 5cm and 7.5cm widths. All rolls have a stretched length of approximately 4.5m. This tape is manufactured without latex.

Please note - only the 5cm and 7.5cm versions of this tape feature a feather-edge and a center line. The 2.5cm tape is plain white with a straight edge and is identical to the 2.5cm tape from our Physical Cut EAB range.

How to Apply Elastic Adhesive Bandage

General instructions for application as a strapping tape:

  1. Apply elastic adhesive bandage only to clean, dry skin free from oils, lotions, moisturisers etc...
  2. Wrap the limb with EAB, applying the tape directly from the roll
  3. Overlap by no more than 1/3 to 1/2 of the tape's width
  4. Cut off with scissors and ensure the free end is securely stuck down
  5. Monitor the area for signs the tape is too tight and remove it if discolouration or swelling emerges
  6. For specific taping techniques, please refer to our blog

Size Guide

SIZE USE FOR
2.5cm Strapping of fingers, hands and wrists. General fixation and retention of dressings, appliances and bandages.
5cm An excellent 'utility' size for all-round sports taping. Suitable for strapping feet, ankles, knees, wrists, shoulders etc. Ideal for forming flexible wrist guards.
7.5cm Used similarly to 5cm tape, but gives more coverage. Therefore very useful for strapping larger areas such as thighs, calves and upper arms. Routinely used to form lifting straps in rugby.

Further Information

Elastic adhesive bandage (EAB) is a stretchy and flexible adhesive tape intended for strapping around soft tissues and joints. For best stick, ensure your skin is clean, dry and free from sweat, oils, dirt, lotions etc before applying this tape. Shaving or trimming body hair on the area can also improve adhesion. EAB must be cut with scissors; it cannot be torn by hand.

When applied with some stretch, EAB will provide quite firm compression to the area. However, when wrapping all the way around a limb, avoid applying it too tightly as this can cause constriction and affect circulation. If you notice any swelling or discolouration has developed in the area around the strapping tape, remove it immediately.

Since Physical Elastic Adhesive Bandage is a latex-free tape, skin irritation is uncommon. But if you have sensitive skin or need to apply the tape to an area of damaged skin, use foam underwrap first to provide protection from the adhesive.

Because EAB stretches and flexes it will move with your body. This property makes it great for functional sports taping. However, if you are looking for a strapping tape that provides rigid support, consider zinc oxide tape instead.
